We are actually based here
Plenty of removals firms claim to be local to Enfield. Ours is a short drive from Enfield Town: our office is at Innova Park on Electric Avenue, EN3, with the storage warehouse in Rainham.
That matters less for marketing than for logistics. A crew starting the day in EN3 is not fighting its way up the A10 from central London before your job begins, and a container being collected from Bush Hill Park or Ponders End is not travelling far to reach the facility. On hourly work in particular, where the van starts from makes a real difference to what you pay.
Enfield is several different places
The borough runs from Edmonton in the south east up to the Hertfordshire boundary, and from the Lee Valley in the east across to Enfield Chase and Trent Park in the west. That is EN1, EN2 and EN3, plus the N postcodes covering Palmers Green, Winchmore Hill, Southgate and Edmonton.
The housing changes completely across it, and so does the job:
- Victorian and Edwardian terraces through Bush Hill Park, Palmers Green and parts of Edmonton, usually with no off-street parking and permit-controlled roads
- 1930s semis across much of Enfield Town, Grange Park and Winchmore Hill, generally with a driveway and easier access
- Larger detached houses towards Enfield Chase, Hadley Wood and the Cockfosters side
- Newer flats around Ponders End and the Meridian Water regeneration, where the constraint is lifts, loading bays and building management rather than stairs
A crew that only ever loads from driveways will struggle on a Palmers Green terrace, and a two-person man and van is the wrong answer for a five-bedroom house off The Ridgeway.
Local practicalities that affect the price
Parking. Much of southern Enfield operates controlled parking zones, and terraced streets around Bush Hill Park and Palmers Green fill up completely during the day. Where a bay suspension is needed, apply to the council in advance rather than hoping.
The A10 and the Hertford Road. Both are slow at peak times, and anything crossing them adds time to an hourly job. Early starts genuinely help.
The North Circular and the M25. Enfield's advantage on a longer move is access to the M25 at junctions 24 and 25, which makes moves out to Hertfordshire and Essex straightforward. Getting across to west London is the harder direction.
Flats and new developments. Ponders End and Meridian Water buildings often require the goods lift to be booked and the loading bay reserved, sometimes with a week's notice. Ask the building manager before you book the crew.
What you might actually need
Most people assume they are booking "a removal" when the job is really some combination of these.
Enfield removals — the full service for a whole property: survey, dismantling, wrapping, loading, transport, unloading and reassembly, priced on volume and access.
Enfield man and van — a driver and vehicle by the hour, right for a studio, a single room, a few large items or a collection. Our guide to how a man and van booking works explains where the line falls.
Enfield packing services — full or partial packing, and materials delivered: boxes, bubble wrap, wardrobe cartons, tape, mattress covers.
Enfield storage — containers delivered to your address, loaded by our crew, held at the monitored facility, and returned to whichever address you choose.
Enfield handyman — dismantling and reassembly, shelves, blinds, TV mounting, and the small repairs that decide whether a deposit comes back whole.
For businesses, we handle out-of-hours office moves across the borough, including the light industrial estates along the Lee Valley.
How to judge a removals company
The tests are the same everywhere, and skipping them is how a move goes wrong.
Insist on a pre-move survey, in person or by video, covering every room including the loft and garage, with access checked at both ends. A quote given without one usually changes on the day.
Get three quotes and compare the hours and crew size, not just the headline price. The gap between quotes nearly always reflects something real.
Ask about insurance in writing. Goods in Transit for items in the van, warehouse-keeper liability for anything stored. Check the limits, and check the exclusions, since self-packed boxes are commonly excluded.
Check credentials and trading history. We are AIM-accredited and have been operating across London for over fifteen years.
Get a written quotation itemising packing, loading, storage, special handling and VAT. A price agreed on the phone is not a quotation.
Beyond Enfield
The same container and removals service runs across the surrounding areas, so a move within or out of the borough is one job: Edmonton, Palmers Green, Winchmore Hill, Cockfosters, Tottenham, Wood Green, Barnet, Potters Bar, Cuffley, Goff's Oak, Waltham Abbey and Broxbourne.
Frequently asked questions
Where is your Enfield base? Our office is at Innova Park, Electric Avenue, EN3, with the storage warehouse in Rainham. Crews working in Enfield start locally, which matters on hourly jobs.
How far in advance should I book a removal in Enfield? Four to six weeks, and as soon as you exchange if the date is confirmed. Fridays, month ends and the summer fill up first.
Do I need a parking permit for a removal van in Enfield? Frequently, yes. Much of the south of the borough is in a controlled parking zone, and a bay suspension normally has to be arranged with the council in advance. Check at both addresses as soon as you have a date.
What about moving into a flat at Meridian Water or Ponders End? Ask the building manager about goods lift booking, loading bay access and any notice period before you book the crew. Newer developments often require these to be reserved days ahead.
Can you store my belongings if the dates do not line up? Yes. Containers are collected from your address, held at our monitored facility, and delivered back to whichever address you choose when you are ready.
Do you cover Hertfordshire and Essex from Enfield? Yes. The M25 at junctions 24 and 25 makes moves out to Potters Bar, Cuffley, Waltham Abbey, Broxbourne and beyond straightforward.
