RMV Terms & Conditions

1) Our Services

1.1 All our estimates/quotes are not definitive, and we reserve the right to adjust the fee when we find that other factors weren’t stated & taken into consideration when booking the services.

1.2 For Man & Services labour is included from ground floor to ground floor or with a lift, other than that extra labour will be applied.

1.3 For Man & Services, one person needs to be actively helping at all times to load and unload the van, (unless agreed otherwise when booking the service). Where help is missing we will charge accordingly for extra labour.

1.4 For Man & Services, no waiting time at anytime, no packing or unpacking at anytime, loading of the van has to commence within 5 minutes of arrival & within 5 minutes of arrival at the destination unless agreed otherwise when booking the service.

1.5 For Man & Services, all the furniture and Fragile items MUST BE covered and protected before loading – by the customers or from us where requested. If packaging service is also required, please let us know WHEN BOOKING the service. Any item not fully protected IS NOT subject to insurance cover costs.

1.6 For Household Removals quoted on a fixed price, an extra charge will be applied for waiting time caused by key exchanges or any similar situation that was not stated & taken into consideration when booking the service.

1.7 For Man & Van Services, we don’t credit anytime leftover should your job last less then the 2 hours minimum charge, neither we are obliged to undertaken any other jobs that wasn’t stated at the time of the booking. The services shall be considered finished when our driver has completed the job as requested by the customer when booking the service.

1.8 Although we make great efforts to be on time, times of arrival are an estimate and we do not offer any discount for any lateness. We do not hold any liability for any loss to the customer as a result of lateness due to unforeseen circumstances.

1.9 We start to charge from the time that we arrive at your address for services quoted on an hourly rate.

1.10 Goods not to be submitted for removals, packing service or storage: prohibited or stolen goods, drugs, potentially dangerous, damaging or explosive items, including gas bottles, aerosols, paints, firearms and ammunition paint, gas canister or any oleos substances, jewelry, watches, precious stones or metals, money, securities, stamps, coins, or goods or collections of any similar kind, Goods likely to encourage vermin or other pests or to cause infestation or contamination, Perishable items and/or those requiring a controlled environment, Any animals, birds, fish, reptiles or plants. Goods, which require special licence or government permission for, export or import. Customers hold themselves responsible and exclude Rmv London for any liability caused for the carriage of such goods.

1.11 International removal or deliveries are subject to a 35% deposit charge when booking the service.

1.12 Packaging materials delivery is free when an order of £80 has been placed. Any order below £80 will be subject to a £15 (excluding congestion charge) delivery fee.

1.13 Crates delivery & pick up services is subject to a £25 delivery fee each.

1.14 Crates minimum term hire is 1 week. We charge a £10 fee for any missing or damage crates.

1.15 We don’t collect rubbish. All wrapping must be dispose by the customer.

1.16 We charge van-cleaning fee as result of the carriage of dirty goods.

1.17 Storage prices are not included of insurance. Insurance will be arranged separately and reflecting the total value of the inventory list, which must be filled up prior the beginnings of service.

1.18 If you wish to collect some items or terminate your storage contract, you must give us at least 3 working days’ notice

1.19 We have the right to choose the method and route by which to carry out the work and the location in respect of storage.

1.20 We charge fully for services, which include the shopping of items in behalf of our customers, and not all items from your shopping list are in stock. Neither shall be liable to attempt to purchase the missing items for a second time within the price of the original quote.

2) Your responsibility

2.1 Be present or represented throughout the collection and delivery of the removal.

2.3 Take all reasonable steps to ensure that nothing that should be removed is left behind and nothing is taken away in error.

2.4 Arrange proper protection for goods left in unoccupied unattended premises, or where other people such as (but not limited to) tenants or workmen are, or will be present.

2.5 Prepare adequately and stabilize all appliances or electronic equipment prior to their removal.

2.6 Empty, properly defrost and clean refrigerators and deep freezers. We are not responsible for the contents.

2.7 Ensure that all domestic and garden appliances, including but not limited to washing machines, dish washers, hose pipes, petrol lawn mowers are clean and dry and have no residual fluid left in them;

2.8 Provide us with a correct and up to date contact address and telephone number during removal transit and/or storage of goods.

2.9 Arrange appropriate transport, storage or disposal of goods listed in    clause 1.10

3) Handyman

3.1 All our estimates/quotes are not definitive, and we reserve the right to adjust the fee when we find that other factors weren’t stated & taken into consideration when booking the service.

3.2 The customer shall inspect the works immediately upon their completion and countersign the relevant form that shall not imply rejection of the works. In the absence of the customer and failure to countersign the form, the works shall be conclusively presumed to be complete and free from any defect, which would be apparent on reasonable examination.

3.3 Parking shall be provided for all the Handyman services. Parking costs will be added to the bill when no parking was provided.

3.4 Materials costs are to be added to final bill when we find that they are required as a result of other factors that weren’t stated & taken into consideration when booking the service.

No call out charge for assembling of furniture if booked along side another service

4) General Terms & Conditions for our services

4.1 Locations inside the congestion charge will be subject to a £11.50 fee when not included within your quotation

4.2 We do not tolerate any abusive behavior towards our drivers and staff. In the event of such behavior we reserve the right to refuse or cancel the job.

4.3 Service Cancellations – Any booked service which is cancelled without a minimum of 24 hours notice, will be subject to a fee of 50% of the minimum charge.

4.4 We reserve the right to refuse to undertake any job where we feel that there is a risk to our health & safety.

5) About payment

5.1 All jobs must be paid fully upon completion of the job, unless agreed otherwise upon booking the service.

5.2 We can issue receipts upon payment, please ask our drivers.

5.3 Invoices are issued to individuals & organizations upon written request and must be paid in full within 7 days.

5.4 We reserve the right to request payment thorough third party debt collection agencies upon failure to provide payment on completion of the job or failure to pay invoices within 7 days.

5.5 We require a deposit of 35% for all our international moves.

5.6 We require full payment before unloading of any items purchased by us under your request.

5.7 All unpaid jobs and outstanding payments, which are four weeks overdue, will be subject to a court claim for money. On top of the outstanding bill will be an extra £35 administration fee plus interested calculated at 8%.

7) About Parking

We do not hold ourselves responsible for any parking charges, so please make sure that you have parking permit or that there is a meter or loading bay as close as possible to the entry of the building.

You will be asked to pay any penalty charges and agree to do so when booking our services and you fail to provide an adequate parking space and a charge occurs.

Addresses on red routes must ensure there is a loading bay (usually they can be used between 10am-4pm, or after 7pm).

8) Our Insurance

8.1 Customers Accept FULL RESPONSABILITY for items NOT properly packed. Any Furniture and fragile items must be wrapped in shrink wrap or bubble wrap. Although RMV staff pay great care and use blankets and straps while the goods are in transit, only damaged goods which are fully protected and damaged due to careless handling will be covered by insurance. (see points 8.2 & 8.3)

8.2 We are fully legally insured; our vans are legally insured.

8.3 Our vans are insured with Goods in Transit for up to £30,000 each. We are not selling or offering insurance neither has insurance been arranged on our customers’ behalf. Our insurance policy does not cover our customers for loss or damage to their goods. Our insurance is to cover our liability to our customer under our contract and terms & conditions. Our insurance will pay compensation to our customer on our behalf should we lose or damage any of our customers’ goods due to our employees being negligent.

8.4 We take full responsibility for damage to your property or address only when professional packaging or adequate packaging has been provided.

8.5 We do not accept any liability to damage or loss if not reported to our driver prior to finishing the job.

8.6 Customers must complete and sign a detailed inventory list prior the wrapping & collection of goods. No claim will be accepted without a valued inventory list.

9) Our right to Sell or dispose of the Goods

If payment of outstanding amount charges relating to your goods is in arrears, and on giving you three months’ notice, we are entitled to require you to remove your goods from our storage facilities and pay all outstanding amounts to us. If you fail to pay all outstanding amounts due to us, we may sell or dispose of some or all of the goods without further notice. The cost of the sale or disposal will be charged against the money you own us. The net proceeds will be credited to your account and any eventual surplus will be paid to you without interest. If the full amount due is not received, we may seek to recover the balance from you.
