If the building has a lift, letting us know in advance means we can bring a special trolley for more efficient loading, and it helps to check with the building that the lift will be free and can take the largest pieces on the day. Without a lift, every item is carried, which is why stairs add time and typically 5% to 20% to the cost of a move.
